church is ‘PEOPLE’
September 24, 2006The other day, a friend o mine asked me what did i do on sunday. I said, “I went to Church”. I couldnt help but notice his stiff response, as if I did somethin that made me suspicious.
He replied “i guess u are religious…”
now even i was kinda confused….hey i am not religious.. nah! Jesus never talked in favour of religion, infact He never started a religion…
Jesus is all about the relationship between man and God. A bond that was severed by the sinful ways of man , and there is NOTHING that a man can do himself to reconcile his relationship with God. Jesus died on the cross as a sacrifice for Our sins, and made it possible, even for a sinful man like me to be able to come to His throne directly for grace… it doesnt matter who you are and what you have done.. just cry out to Jesus..
So whatever religion tells you to “DO” aint gonna get you to heaven… religion is a man made system to subdue people and stop them from getting closer to the truth…
and church is not a way to heaven or an organization run by “holy deeds“ people.. it is His ‘People’. Church is a gathering / fellowship of Believers in christ to praise and honor His name and to edify each other…
infact i pray that the world gets to know and see the truth and power of the real church .. the people redeemed by Christ..

I’m not religeous at all, but i’m happy to see some christians think about “the church” as you do
Keep that mind open!
Its always hard, in fact impossible, to get away from peoples stereotypes of other, everyone is guity of both being stereotypical and being a stereotype. Its just a shame when a God is often assumed to be like his broken people.
Interesting thoughts, i hope the church becomes the redeemed people of God so the world can see it.
Something to think about: Jesus is all about the relationship between man and God, but also between man and man, and also between man and the world and everything in it…
